The precursor was Giang Vo Exhibition Area, established in 1974 with the task of organizing exhibition of economic and technical achievements of the country, cultural and social events of Hanoi capital and ministries and departments. Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center (VEFAC) has gone through many development periods, with the names: Giang Vo Exhibition Area (1974- 1978); Central Exhibition Area (1979 - 1982); Center for Exhibition of Vietnam Economic and Technical Achievement (1982 - 1985); Giang Vo Exhibition Center (1985 - 1989); Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center - VEFAC (1989 - 2015); and from June 2015, after the equitization process according to the Government's policy, the company officially named Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center., JSC (VEFAC)

For nearly 40 years of construction and development, as the leading organizer and service provider in Vietnam in the field of exhibitions, VEFAC has successfully organized hundreds of major events such as: Vietnam's socio-economic achievements exhibition (periodically every 5 years); traditional exhibition on achievements of the fields of Culture, Sports & Tourism, Construction, Information & Communication; National Fine Arts Exhibition; SEAGAME; Indoorgames; ASEAN Skills Competition ... annual trade fairs such as Vietnam International Industrial Fair - VIIF, Spring Fair, Vietnam Fashion Fair, Hanoi Trade Fair ... 

With its experience and prestige, VEFAC is proud of its reputation as the only one in five consecutive times that was assigned by the Prime Minister, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to represent Vietnam participated in the World Expo: - Expo Aichi in Japan 2005; - Expo Zaragoza in Spain 2008; - Expo Shanghai, China 2010; - Expo Yeosu, South Korea 2012; - Expo Milano, Italy 2015.
